A couple of finished blocks

I have finished CCCQ block #16 'Adaline's Picture Frame'

Chester County Criswell quilt block 16

I chose this fabric as the motif reminded me of the shape of the appliqué.

I have also finished the first part of Gossip in the Garden. I discovered some new pins on Meredithe's blog that are great for machine piecing abutting seams. They are called fork pins and I bought the Clover brand.

Careful not to let the needle hit the forks.

  2. Nice job of centering your appliqué piece over the design on the fabric. It does repeat the shape--cool. Your handwork is gorgeous!!

  3. Your blocks are always lovely, and your appliqué so neat. This quilt will be another beauty. I have ears of those pins but haven't tried them, they look handy.

  7. Nice fabric choice for your CCCQ and you piecing is just impeccable. I have tried the fork pins with no success.

  8. I have some of those pins, but have lost them over the years! I'll have to see if I can find them! Your intersections look great! And of course, the other projects are looking great also! You are coming right along on those pretty blocks!

  9. Love your Adaline block (my mother's name was Adeline or Adelina in Italian)--your applique inspires me. I've done 9 Criswell blocks, 7 from the pattern and 2 of my own design. They are all the papercut style like Adaline's block. I may stop now and add sashing and a border. (I haven't bought the 2nd year patterns). But I miss working on these lovely blocks. Thank you for sharing your work.
