Judy and I have finished block #1 of AWS, we aren't really going in any particular order. This was a very difficult block combining broderie perse, hand piecing and needle turn appliqué and I took an age to decide on the fabrics.

I think I'm getting better at taking photos with my iPad, especially close ups, but I'm hoping Santa brings me a new camera. My trusty old Sony Cybershot died after a good 8 years of service. It might be old fashioned (mum, just get a better phone) but I miss having a dedicated camera. If you want to know how I appliqué my circles go here.
This is Judy's first go at broderie perse - beautifully needle turned :)...

I decided to keep the green outline on block #13 and do the broderie perse with a buttonhole stitch on the machine.

Better go and put up the tree or do something Christmassy.
Cheers
Carole
Lovely blocks love all the detail.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing the gorgeous detail of your stitching. I always find the choosing the hardest part. Seems to be even more difficult with small pieces.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Carole! I've never done any brodeire perse but I'm about to give it a go on one of my Quilting the Garden blocks. I can only hope it comes out as beautiful as the blocks you ladies have stitched. Just stunning...
ReplyDeleteLove those blocks. Your fabric selection is lovely. I really enjoy following along on this one!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks do look difficult to me but you always do a beautiful job. I am going to have to try some brodeire perse one day.
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks..
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are looking great Carole - pretty colour schemes - and challenging construction. Love the new header - nothing wrong with that photo! Hope Santa cooperates with the camera - I can't get used to taking photos with my phone either ;)
