There's even been some fabulous Christmas yarn bombing on the city's tree trunks.
I love this year's Myer Christmas windows display. It's based on a book about a dog getting lost in Melbourne set in the 50s/early 60s and includes such Melbourne icons as a tram...
...and Flinders Street station.
The dresses remind me of the ones my mother wore.
Wishing all my readers, followers and fellow blogging friends a safe and Merry Christmas. I'll be be back soon to show you my wonderful Christmas prezzie, something that any quilter would love - can you guess what it is???
Nice pictures, wish you a merry christmas and a happu new year.
ReplyDeleteYes, have a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what your present is! Have a fabulous Christmas and an even better 2016. I hope you can find some sewing time over this little break and I look forward to catching up next year.
ReplyDeleteI heard the queue at Myer is huge! Looks like it's worth the wait though.
ReplyDeleteI was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago for work, but spent most of my time at UoM so missed a lot of the Christmas displays! Merry Christmas Carol - can't wait to see your gift!
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely some perks to working in the city - how lovely to see these displays! I know just what you mean about the dresses - takes me back too - and a lot were hand made of course. Happy New Year! - not too early to say that I hope...
ReplyDeleteIt's so strange to see so much green at Christmas when everything is so white here. Those knitters really go over the top--very cool and the windows are so fun. I can't wait to see your present--hope it was a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI remember wearing dresses like that! I have a Christmas picture when I was 12 wearing a brown plaid dress with full skirt way below my knees, when everyone at school were wearing mini skirts.
ReplyDeleteHey from Texas USA. I don't know how I happened upon your blog, but I've read all the way back to Christmas. So very glad to meet you and learn about your wonderful world of quilts. I'm fascinated!
