Castlemaine Appliqué Group exhibition

The Castlemaine Appliqué Group put on an outstanding exhibition last weekend. You might want to grab a cuppa as this is long post :)
My new camera got a real work out but I'm still figuring it out so I apologise in advance  as some are better than others! I'll just let the pictures do the talking - the labels come after the quilt.

Judy at Castlemaine station checking Google maps to find the exhibition

This background fabric made the quilt look like velvet

This has given me some ideas for the broderie perse on AWS

Blurry but cute!

LOVE this background fabric and the quilting!

Beautiful broderie perse

We were very excited to see not one but two Antique Wedding Sampler quilts!!

This was a standout quilt for both of us, the applique skills and the fabrics - just fabulous

It's always great to see a Morrell - this was a stunner!

'Mrs Williams and I' by Jan MacFadyen - of Sew Many Quilts Too Little Time who I met for the first time and we had a great chat together

Caswell quilt blocks by Lyn Wright
This quilt was just incredible, luckily a 'quilt angel' helped us to see more

Loved the use of colour in this quilt

Phew and this was just a sampling! Just amazing.
Back home on the train, a nice smooth ride compared to the Warrandyte bus!

  9. Great photos Carole- thanks for the label following each quilt. I need to finish a few things so I can start on one of these fabulous quilts. I have the book with Rotherfield Greys but Jan's Mrs. Williams is tempting too.

  12. It was lovely to meet up with you and Judy at the show. A lovely blog post of the quilts, Carole, and you did a great job with naming the quilts and their makers.
