If you haven't already you can read about this on our G'nT Sisters blog here.
I'm not going to post photos of other quilts [ :( ]as I forgot to check on whether this was ok. I was pretty restrained retail wise but did buy some lovely threads - some variegated Valdani perle cotton for Vases of Flowers...
... and some beautiful variegated wool to embroider stems on Words to Live By.
I've managed to finish a few more of these blocks.
Before I head off to bed as I have to get up early (yes, I have a new job!) I am offering a give-away to celebrate this month's happenings. Leave a comment (or send me an email) on any reason you have had cause to celebrate recently. Let me know which Jen Kingwell pattern (new & unused) you would like to win, either Gypsy Wife...
...OR the Circle Game.
This give away is now closed - thanks.
Your Antique Wedding Sampler looks so beautiful hanging at the Fair..
ReplyDeleteI am celebrating the finish of my Noah and Matilda top and My Harrison Rose top.
Jen Kingwell will be at Intown Quilt shop in Atlanta next month. What fun it would be to have either one of her patterns.
Thanks for the chance.
Congratulations on getting a new job. Now you can continue your retail therapy.
ReplyDeleteI haven't broken down and purchased Gypsy Wife yet, so I would love to add my name to the hat! Congrats on your new job, your hundredth follower and your beautiful quilt hanging in the show--it's so wonderful. It looks like your Words to Live By Blocks are coming along nicely--I am celebrating winning a ribbon for my version--very exciting for me!
ReplyDeleteAmazing job Carol! It looks like it got a (well deserved) great spot at the show. Reason to celebrate? I took out the final piece of paper from my Nearly Insane quilt today! It has taken ages. I hope to post a photo soon.
ReplyDeleteGypsy Wife would be great!
What a beautiful quilt! And I love wool applique. I'm celebrating my 37th wedding anniversary this week. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love your Words to Live by quilt. Its given me an idea to maybe start using my collection of wool for some applique. I have been nervous of stitching wool to cotton, but obviously it works fine.I thought it might be too heavy.
ReplyDeleteIf I was so lucky to win, I would love Gypsy Wife.
Thank you for the chance to enter your draw!
Helped our daughter celebrate her 40th birthday last night. Fun with friends and family. Would love Circle Game. Thank you, love your wool appliqué!
ReplyDeleteYour AWS looks fabulous hanging at the show.. and good luck with the new job. We are waiting to celebrate any moment the birth of our 5th granddaughter... I am facinated by The Gypsey Wife
ReplyDeleteHi Carol your Antique Wedding Sampler is just amazing. Can't stop admiring it, also congrats on your 100th follower and your new job. I have just helped my son celebrate his 38th Birthday, they grow up so fast. I have looked at the Circle game by Jen Kingwell and would love to have that pattern, I am presently half way through her Midnight at the Oasis.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol - you have beautiful work. I (and my husband - naturally) celebrated our 40th Wedding anniversary a couple of months ago, and as I type, I am waiting for my daughter (who is two days overdue) to ring and say she is going to hospital for her second baby. I will be babysitting no. 1 whilst she is in hospital. The Circle game looks an amazing quilt to do.
ReplyDeleteLove to see your quilts. I celebrate that I have finished my 4th quilt. And it is beautifull.
ReplyDeleteGreetings

ReplyDeleteYour work is so lovely, all the blocks are beautiful. Congratulations on your new job! I hope it doesn't take away too much sewing time. Very generous giveaway, but I don't think I have the stamina for either of these!

I have a contract to teach English paper piecing this fall. I've put together a lesson plan and the handouts. I tested out my workshop on Saturday with a group of quilters and it was a huge success.
