CCCQ #15 Oak Leaf Pinwheel

I have finished block #15 so now I'm only a couple of blocks behind on the CCCQ BOM.

CCCQ block #15

I was going to use this fabric (from Judy Rothermel's Party of Twelve) for the large centre block but I didn't have enough. However I think it really suits this block giving the effect of veins on the oak leaves.

The little flowers are sweet but I'm tempted to give them a contrasting centre.

It would be nice to get another block finished before the next pattern release on the 1st of February but have I got a pattern printed out and if so where is it???

Found the right print and a background square already cut out.

But no pattern and my printer is playing up ....Don't you just hate it when you're all geared up to work on something and you don't have what you need?

Oh well always something else to work on, back to AWS...

  1. Yes, that veined fabric is ideal for this one! Do hope you find that pesky pattern. By the way - love the new header - beautiful mix of garden and sewing :)

  2. I agree. That fabric is perfect. I tend to misplace so many things in my quilt room (okay, in my life) partly b/c it is so cluttered often and partly b/c I am trying to do so many things. Sigh. I have invested in several (more) project boxes that are labeled and print off the patterns the day they arrive and put them in the appropriate box.
I agree about the idea about putting contrasting centers in the little flowers. I think I might just borrow your idea.

  3. I think the fabric is perfect for this block. And a contrasting flower centre would be a great finishing touch.

  7. That fabric is pretty sweet! I do hate being all set to get to work and then have so something go missing. I 've wasted more time looking for something in my sewing space and then find it was staring me in the face whole time! It usually happened after I've cleaned
